Baby L was our last Christmas shoot for the season and what a blast he was!  Dressed well for the season, he rocked his adorable fleece vest.  He made for an incredibly quick session too - giving me all his cute faces right off the bat without much effort on my part!  At just 9 months old, little ones don't often have the patience to put up with the silly camera lady for very long, but he did wonderfully!  Plus, how cute does he look with a little garland and some ornaments?! The T Family | Onalaska Wisconsin Family Photographer

Baby J stopped in again for a family shoot and his one year shots.  But, even better than the adorable smiles he gave me and the silly game of throw-the-big-plastic-ornaments game we played, was the fact that he decided he was going to start walking like a champ during his session!  His parent's told me that he had taken a few steps the day before, but he was walking circles around the studio!  It was such a joy to witness!  Just another awesome milestone to occur in our studio! 2nd Annual Jingle Bark | Onalaska Wisconsin Pet Photographers

Our 2nd annual Jingle Bark went off without a hitch!  Okay, maybe not a hitch, but there was a quality amount of drool, barks, shedding, and puppy nibbles.  But we wouldn't have it any other way!  The bloopers above are some of the funniest memories from last Saturday!  This is just such a fun event to do each year and we get to meet so many awesome dogs and their parents.  We again teamed up with the wonderful ladies of Marcie's Pet Spa in West Salem, WI and we brought along a few new props and backgrounds.  Also, a portion of the proceeds this year went to benefit The Craig Family (a local family) who are saving up money for their daughter's pet therapy dog (which is quite expensive due to the extensive training it will receive in order to best aide specialized needs).  It warms our hearts that we're able to provide a little assistance for a great cause; all while enjoying snuggles, licked kisses, and wagging tails!  We hope to see an even greater turn out next year for our 3rd annual event, so get those pups excited! Sneak Peek - Parents-To-Be A & D | Onalaska Wisconsin Maternity Photographer

Can you guess what this wonderful couple is expecting?  Yep, our blue ribbon was put to good use the other day when A & D stopped in for a mini maternity session!  They will soon be adding a little baby boy to their family, making a group of three early next year!  Currently in Winona, MN, they made the drive to our studio (about 30 minutes) for their session.  It's always such a compliment when our clients travel from other towns for sessions with us - we definitely appreciate it!

They were both so easy going and brought along their sense of humor, which made the whole session such a joy.  Plus, we got to play on the black and white theme with these contrasting shots.  They are so content and peaceful as they wait for their little one (whose name is being kept secret for now) to arrive.  I bet they will be amazing parents and I hope to have the chance to meet their little bundle of joy after he arrives! Sneak Peek - The S Family | Onalaska Wisconsin Family Photographer

Sometimes you just have to let loose and have some fun and this family was definitely prepared for that!  Plus, don't you just love that candy stained tongue from the little guy in the front?!  With grandparents, grown siblings, and the newest kids in the family, this group got everyone together for a big family shot.  It must have been all the turkey they ate the day before (which was Thanksgiving) that inspired this silliness, but it was well worth it (especially since it lead to some very cute smiles in the following images)!  Grandma R is actually enrolled in the Photo Composition courses (renamed Photo Techniques for next semester) that Savanna teaches at Western Technical College, so it was really wonderful getting to meet the rest of her crew! Sneak Peek - Baby E | Onalaska Wisconsin Baby Photographer

Sneak Peek - Baby CJ | Onalaska Wisconsin Baby Photographer

This little cutie has a duck hunter for a daddy, so of course he needed pictures with some decoys! I am sure in a few short years he will be helping pick up decoys from the water. But until then, he will be keeping his mommy and daddy on their toes as a rambunctious one year old! And there's just nothing better than wonderfully crunchy fallen leaves, in a pile thick enough to sink into! So when we saw all the leaves we knew exactly what to do with them - they are a lovely addition to the vintage look.  Baby CJ may have been one of our last little guys to get a chance to take advantage of what was left of Fall and we had a great time with him! Little A - what an adorable (and quite funny) little guy!  He has such amazing eyes and the cutest little smile.  He also gave the camera a great range of silly faces!  And despite the chilliness of the late afternoon, him and his parents were great to work with!  We even caught what may have been the very last of the crunchy, deep colored leaves, which made for a bunch of fun during our shoot!

Ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes, plus a whole bunch of adorable baby lashes!  Baby J was quite the model when she stopped in for a visit!  At two weeks old, the whole world is such a brand new place, but she got through her session with flying colors!  She even slept through her big sister's very excited (and a bit loud) words of encouragement!  But the love and happiness that surrounds this tiny little lady is evident and that always makes these first sessions in these new little lives so wonderful!  Big Sister O visited us once before (check it out here) and it was great seeing just how big she's gotten since then too! Laughter, real laughter, shared among family members is one of the best sounds on Earth!  And giggles - giggles from tiny little guys like Little C; that is just an absolutely adorable noise!  Despite the chill in the air, the occasional shiver, and the rosy cheeks that are inevitable this time of year, the S Family were so wonderful during their session.  The Fall season left us with a wonderfully thick layer of leaves covering the cool ground and there's only one thing you can do with a big bunch of leaves - toss them!  It was the tossing of said leaves that inspired this little toothy grin and it was well worth it! It's those quick moments that happen during a shoot that remind us just how precious families are!  A simple snuggle moment turns into a giant bear hug, complete with big toothy grins and a mom and dad who are quite proud of their brood!  The B Family couldn't have been any easier to work with (especially considering the fact that they brought along four kiddos ages 10 through 3)!  We had a blast during their shoot on what was an oddly warm day for the cool Fall we've been having (it was in the 70s).  Also, they all dressed very nicely and coordinated very well for their shoot too, which is huge when you're looking for photos that you'll want to show off to everyone you know! On one of the last warm-ish Fall days we headed out to a forest trail with the seven members (including the furry ones) of the M Family for a shoot.  This family was a blast to work with!  They were all in great moods, full of laughter!  Even the two dogs, despite the small bursts of excitement when a few other dogs walked past, were quite easy-going.  For never having had their family photos taken, they mentioned being pleasantly surprised at how fun it was - which is always a wonderful compliment for us!  We love when families can relax in front of our lens and enjoy the moments spent together and the memories shared! The Dog Spa | West Salem Wisconsin Photographer

The lovely ladies of Marcie's Pet Spa in West Salem, WI are at it again!  With a move to a larger location just across the street from their old spot (Leonard St.) and a major expanse in staff, they are growing faster than the pooches they groom and care for can chase a Frisbee!  We not only have been bringing our dogs to visit Marcie for quite some time, we also work with her business for our annual pet portrait charity event, Jingle Bark.  After the blast we had creating their staff photos (literally, the laughing you see in the photo on the right was all natural - no prompting required), we sat down for a few minutes to organize this year's Jingle Bark!  We'll release more information about that soon, but until then, make sure all you dog owners check out Marcie's Pet Spa - awesome people who do an awesome job with our furry family members! Sneak Peek - T & A Engagement | La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

T & A bravely weathered the cool temps (really, shiver-inducing degrees) for this last shot as the sun sank over the Mississippi!  But what a wonderful session we had, even if we all had numb fingers and a case of the sniffles afterwards!  They will be getting married in a much warmer month next year, June, and we can't wait to be a part of their special day!

Excited, excited, excited!  That's the buzz word here at EIP!  This has been a long time coming, but we are now officially announcing the arrival of our newest team member - Megan!  I met Megan in a few of the photo courses I teach at Western Technical College and saw what awesome photographic potential she had!  After generously assisting with a few shoots earlier in the year, I realized that Megan was just the type of person EIP was looking for as we continue to grow; she's friendly, easy-going, and talented!  With her first official EIP shoot already under her belt, we can't wait to see what Megan wows us with next!

Sneak Peek - Baby E | Onalaska Wisconsin Baby Photographer

Sneak Peek - C & R Wedding | La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

What a wonderfully nice couple we worked with the past weekend!  It was a beautiful Friday for an outdoor wedding over at Pettibone Resort (La Crosse, WI)!  C & R have known each other for quite some time and it was such a joy to watch as their families celebrated with them their official union!

Their wedding party was full of fun people as well!  Complete with a junior bridesmaid and a junior groomsman, they were all as happy as could be for the loving couple.  There was quite a bunch of laughing that took place during their photos as well; jokes, memories, it was all just a good time!

Their ushers appropriately donned security t-shirts (with the couple's last name), complete with faux tuxes printed on the fronts!  (They did an awesome job of keeping the peace!)  And, there is a unique story to accompany her ring:  the young ring bearer accidentally dropped her ring on the patio and it fell through the cracks onto the hidden pavement below!  Luckily, some power tools and very helpful people we able to retrieve it, not in time for the ceremony, but in time for the reception!

This fuzzy little guy (or girl?) was flying around the Zinnias we've been growing out back, so of course, I couldn't resist getting a quick shot!  Luckily, he was very cooperative and allowed me to snap quite a few shots before fluttering off in search of other sweet flowers.  But, as I was editing the images, I realized, I really have no idea what he was: a butterfly or a moth?  So, I putting the question to all of you out there, does anyone know?  (Curiosity always gets the best of me!)

The Farm Experience | Onalaska Wisconsin Commercial Photographer

Recently, I began working with a local publication called Greens Coulee Life, a magazine exclusive to the neighborhoods in Onalaska behind Coulee Golf and Bowl.  As one of the assignments, I was asked to photograph a local community farm located in the middle of the neighborhoods called Clearwater Farms.  It was quite the cool experience!

Besides seeing all the neat animals, including Frosty the (very friendly) Donkey and a very ferocious cat (who was actually just sleepy and yawning quite frequently), I learned quite a lot!  There were fancy chickens that actually produce eggs (I was told nothing beats a fresh egg) and a wonderful garden area where huge, healthy plants were growing.  The farm even offers special activities for members and other groups to participate in.
