{The Lovely Miss L} Tomah Wisconsin Senior Photographer

Oh.  My.  Gosh!  How gorgeous is this lady?!  We had the pleasure of spending some time over the holiday weekend with her and the rest of my husband's family (she is my brother-in-law's girlfriend).  Of course, I couldn't resist asking her if she'd pose for me and my camera!  (Everyone in my family and many of my friends have discovered that, at some point in their relationship with me, I will ask them to model for me!)  She has these gorgeous tattoos on her shoulders/back.  She's also a very organic person, enjoying nature and the Earth's offerings.  So naturally, when the inspiration of natural styled images struck, she was the first one I turned to!  We spent about 30 minutes before her shoot doing some natural, nude based make-up and a lovely french braid that swept rather haphazardly along the back of her head and fell into a low side ponytail over her shoulder.  I was so happy how feminine and smooth her look was and how her stunning green eyes blended with the amazing foilage we found in Tomah, Wisconsin!  All in all, she was a happy model and I was a happy photographer!

{Baby K} La Crosse Wisconsin Baby Photographer

What a little cutie we photographed again for the 6 month session of her Baby Steps Plan!  One of our favorite parts of getting to know these little ones during their first year of life is that we get to see just how much they grow and change within such short time periods.  Baby K is a prime example!  She was sitting up and full of giggles this time.  Plus, chubby babies are just too cute, especially when they rock a bare baby shot!  And pearls and lace - she didn't mind at all!

Could these two get any cuter?!  We have had so much fun watching these two siblings grow over the years.  Plus, their mom earns herself a huge gold star every time they visit!  She will jump around, go in for tickles, even stack stuff on her head to keep the kiddos entertained - and it works!  The first time she visited us (for Little B's toddler session 2-ish years ago), she was pregnant with Little P and did so much jumping around and running after her adorable little boy that I thought she might just have her 2nd right there in the studio!  Plus, who can resist the very real faces these two give us, especially when asked to stand next to one another!

Soon-To-Be Mom (again) G | Bangor Wisconsin Maternity Photographer

What a wonderful family this baby girl will be arriving into!  She's already a princess, joining a big sister and a big brother.  And, as you can clearly see in the big grin below, her big sister is very excited to have another girl in the family!  We had so much fun documenting soon-to-be mom (again) G's pregnancy at her home in Bangor, Wisconsin.  Despite the wind and nippy temperatures, they all rocked their shoot!  Plus, G is all baby and not a pound more - what a lovely pregnant woman she is!

The M Family | Holmen Wisconsin Family Photographer

Getting 4 kids together and a dog takes a lot of coordination! We are so happy this family came to us for their family photos. I think we were able to utilize the last warm day with this family.
These kids were so funny and had many faces for the camera. Luckily, they showed us some good smiles as well. One of the kids and the dad made a great bench for the photo shoot as well. So talented!! Thanks again M family for allowing us to take your family photos!

The B Siblings | Onalaska Wisconsin Family Photographer

The 3 B siblings have been visiting us for photos since they were even younger than they already are!  In fact, we photographed the B sisters since before their little brother was born about 2 years ago!  We just knew we had to use these awesome vintage crates for their photos.  We popped out to the backyard of our studio, which is lovely this time of year with the gorgeous vine-covered fence!

Each time we see them they bring more and more personality.  This time was no different!  Between the adorable, high-fashion looks they rock and the super cute smiles they flash us - we always have fun together!  How can we resist enjoying creating photos of such cute kiddos?!

B & B Engagement | Onalaska Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

To be in the company of love is such a wonderful thing!  Each and every couple we meet has their own unique love story and it's so captivating to see them illustrate it in front of our lens!  B and B are a great young couple who are planning on tying the knot in the Fall of 2014.  They are both very relaxed individuals who compliment each other beautifully and have been together for quite some time.  They really enjoy being with one another which was so clear in their images.

They also have quite interesting hobbies.  He restores old Studebaker cars (featured) on the farm site they share in Minnesota.  We couldn't resist getting a shot of his current project!  They also dirt bike together, so of course, when they offered to "jump" the bike, we had to snap a few shots!  We had so much fun during their engagement session, we just can't wait to see what their wedding holds!

Sneak Peek - Baby CJ | Onalaska Wisconsin Baby Photographer

This little cutie has a duck hunter for a daddy, so of course he needed pictures with some decoys! I am sure in a few short years he will be helping pick up decoys from the water. But until then, he will be keeping his mommy and daddy on their toes as a rambunctious one year old! And there's just nothing better than wonderfully crunchy fallen leaves, in a pile thick enough to sink into! So when we saw all the leaves we knew exactly what to do with them - they are a lovely addition to the vintage look.  Baby CJ may have been one of our last little guys to get a chance to take advantage of what was left of Fall and we had a great time with him! Sneak Peek - The S Family | La Crosse Wisconsin Family Photographer

Laughter, real laughter, shared among family members is one of the best sounds on Earth!  And giggles - giggles from tiny little guys like Little C; that is just an absolutely adorable noise!  Despite the chill in the air, the occasional shiver, and the rosy cheeks that are inevitable this time of year, the S Family were so wonderful during their session.  The Fall season left us with a wonderfully thick layer of leaves covering the cool ground and there's only one thing you can do with a big bunch of leaves - toss them!  It was the tossing of said leaves that inspired this little toothy grin and it was well worth it! Sneak Peek - Little Mr. M | Onalaska Wisconsin Child Photographer

Sneak Peek - D & L Wedding | La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

What a wonderfully fun wedding I photographed last weekend! It was a great way to kick off a full wedding season! You may remember D & L from their engagement shoot last year (see the blog posts here). They had such an awesome idea for their wedding; a 1920/30s Bonnie & Clyde theme! So, along with their engagement photos adhering to this theme, so did their wedding. And what a hit it was, their guests even came dressed to match the time period! We began our day with the gorgeous bride L as she prepared the finishing touches on her vintage inspired look.  A little side note, her wedding ring contains an Opal stone (if I'm not mistaken) making is very unique to her.

Then, it was time for the ceremony.  Last Saturday was so incredibly stormy, with bright lightning bolts stretching towards the ground from the dark clouds every few minutes.  Things had to be moved indoors, so the wedding party and all the guests wouldn't get soaked, but it worked out perfectly!  There was even some "modern" influences as the groom's father used his cell phone to capture the moment.

The ceremony and reception both took place at Boothill Pub in La Crosse, WI.  But, in between the two main events, we took family photos before the wedding party gathered onto a comfortably large limo for transportation to a secondary location.  One of L's bridesmaid was excellent at making sure everyone's make-up was in tip-top shape for photos!  Candid moments like these two really make for wonderful memories on a day that seems to fly by.

We had originally planned to visit Riverside Park for some group photos, but, with the not-so-lovely weather, we instead sought shelter in the Tavern in The Waterfront Restaurant, also in La Crosse, WI.  Quick thinking on the groom, D's part, lead to this location, which was well-suited, almost perfectly so, for their theme!

Then it was back to the reception, where it was non-stop fun!  The DJ guided some fun activities for the couple during the bouquet toss and garter toss.  There was even a mandatory dance by the groom before retrieving the garter, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed and at which D did a great job!

And finally, we worked with the couple during their planning stages to set up out Inside-Out Photo Booth during the reception as a way to get photos of all their guests and to use as thank-yous afterwards.  Some relatives created a wonderful backdrop, mimicking a prison processing backdrop, and the couple provided fun props too!  By the end of this day, my cheeks were killing me from all the laughing I did with this group and their guests!  (Also, don't you just love this vintage processing to match the theme; although, we do have many more photos in full color and black and white as well!)
