{The Lovely Miss L} Tomah Wisconsin Senior Photographer

Oh.  My.  Gosh!  How gorgeous is this lady?!  We had the pleasure of spending some time over the holiday weekend with her and the rest of my husband's family (she is my brother-in-law's girlfriend).  Of course, I couldn't resist asking her if she'd pose for me and my camera!  (Everyone in my family and many of my friends have discovered that, at some point in their relationship with me, I will ask them to model for me!)  She has these gorgeous tattoos on her shoulders/back.  She's also a very organic person, enjoying nature and the Earth's offerings.  So naturally, when the inspiration of natural styled images struck, she was the first one I turned to!  We spent about 30 minutes before her shoot doing some natural, nude based make-up and a lovely french braid that swept rather haphazardly along the back of her head and fell into a low side ponytail over her shoulder.  I was so happy how feminine and smooth her look was and how her stunning green eyes blended with the amazing foilage we found in Tomah, Wisconsin!  All in all, she was a happy model and I was a happy photographer!

These two boys are just full of giggles!  Even when Little Brother H brought out some crocodile tears, they were still just too cute.  Their dad is a member of the military and they were home for a visit so his mom decided to sneak the family in for a quick shoot.  Plus, how gorgeous is the Lovely A in the shot below?!  Snuggle shots with parents are too fun not to shoot when the kids are preoccupied for minute!

{Flowers in the winter...} Tomah Wisconsin Photographer

What a beautiful way to spend a very cold (-40s) evening in Wisconsin!  My husband, Trent, and I picked up some flowers at a local retail store and set up our still life studio on our kitchen island.  It's always fun relaxing with some subjects that don't even blink (although, I do love the excitement of a portrait shoot)!  But, we decided to keep it simple with gorgeously controlled and manipulated lighting, posed blooms, and deep toned backdrops.  Trent normally shoots wildlife and nature scenes and subjects, so a still life was a nice little change since getting the camera gear outside in these temps is just not fun!  Now it's back to business after a bit of play...

Sneak Peek - Class of 2013 T | La Crosse Wisconsin High School Senior Photographer

Sneak Peek - Baby B | Tomah Wisconsin Baby Photographer

Another birthday celebration in the studio - which means another cake smash!  We just love photographing the experience of these little one-year-olds figuring out just what to do with a whole cake/cupcake for themselves!  It's not often, in young lives, that there's quite this much sugar and yumminess at your fingertips (literally)!  Some tiny hands dive right in, grabbing gobs of cake and gooey frosting, then stuffing it into those little mouths.  Some small fingers barely smudge the frosting before the tears start flowing.  Then, others, like this little one, begin cautiously and, after discovering the sweet joy that is cake and frosting, take on the serious task of devouring the deliciousness in front of them.  Whatever the method, it's always quite a sight to be seen!

We had a tough guy in the studio - muscles, denim, and tattoo to boot!  Little J and his little sister were quite the riot during their session.  This little guy was all smiles (probably excited about turning the big 3 in just a few days)!  He was really great with helping his sister during her shots as well (and even snuck in a few handfuls of her big cupcake)!  There's just something about a guy with a tattoo - even if it is the washable kind...  (Such a cutie!)

I just love teeny, tiny baby toes!  They're just so cute!  I love getting a few of these shots during a newborn session because in just a few weeks, these little feet get a pinch bigger and the changing just doesn't stop.  It's a fleeting memory of such a precious detail during such a wonderful stage of a little one's life!

This darling little lady came to the studio yesterday with her mom, dad, and 3 older brothers (all under the age of 7)!  We had a ton of fun!  Baby J has quite the interesting birth story too - it was great getting a little time to chat with her mom while her dad and brothers went out to expend a little energy!  She fought it for a bit, but eventually fell fast asleep and then stayed asleep for the rest of the session!  I love sleeping babies and especially love it when they like to get all curled up as they snooze.  She's only two weeks old and that's a great time to photograph a baby because they still need frequent naps and they like to stay tucked up and swaddled!

tough guys!  They're such characters, each with such different personalities!  They just celebrated two birthdays and I can't wait to see them on their next birthdays!

Look at the eyes on this little guy!  And his very attentive big brothers are just as adorable!  We had so much fun when these 3 guys came into the studio!  They have tons of energy (especially this little guy up front) and they definitely pepped up by day - better than coffee!  Their parents were great too - keeping the whole gang wrangled up!

It's definitely a boys day here at the studio!  First, we started our day with these guys, then we ended our day with guy who plays more sports than I can imagine for his senior portraits!  All in all, it was quite a fun day and I finally got to use some of my blue things - not that I don't love all my little pink bows, flowers, blankets, etc!  I hope to see these guys again sometime soon - especially when I need a little exercise and my eyes start only recognizing the color pink!  =)
