{Mr. & Mrs. L} La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

Wow, wow, wow!  What a beautiful wedding we had the privilege of photographing this summer!  M & J were such a sweet couple and really fun to work with!  Their gorgeous wedding ceremony took place at St. Patrick's Church in Onalaska, WI on a day filled with nothing but blue sky.  Her amazing dress was from Charlotte's Bridal in La Crosse, WI.  She added some extra sparkle with a sparkly pair of earrings and a matching bracelet.  Her beautiful bouquet was created by Cottage Garden Floral in La Crosse, WI.  And the bling - ah, stunning!  They got their rings from Kesslers Diamonds in Milwaukee, WI.  You can tell from her beaming smile as he spoke his vows to her that she was one happy bride!

The hair styling for the ladies was done by Sue Kolve's Salon in Onalaska, WI and they all looked gorgeous!  With tuxes also from Charlotte's Bridal, the whole wedding party was dressed to perfection.  Plus, the blue they included in their wedding colors photographed so well!  We spent some time between their ceremony and reception in La Crosse, near the river.  A good time was had by all and the party truly began!

They choose to have their reception at The Waterfront in La Crosse, WI.  They decorated with beautiful silver sticks and glass vases.  There were even some lovely little name plate charms on the bride and groom's champagne glasses.  Their dinner was simply delicious and supplied by the venue. To round out the meal, their guests were treated to cupcakes from International Bakery in La Crosse, WI.  Just another example of how fun loving this group is - their speeches set the room on fire!  The laughter (and a little embarrassment at moments) evident on their parent's faces say it all!

The dance commenced with a romantic first dance from the couple.  Music was provided by Music Mix of La Crosse (La Crosse, WI).  Our hearts melt each and every time we watch a bride and groom  dance together for the first time on their special day!  We wish M & J a very happy future together as husband and wife!

{M Family} La Crosse Wisconsin Family Photographer

Does this crew know how to rock a family shoot or what?!  They were such a tight knit group, letting us get some close family shots despite the soaring temps that day!  They were all so wonderful to chat with and to photograph, a real joy of a family.  We may have finished off 20 bottles of water that afternoon, but there's not a drop of sweat visible.  We ended with a fun filled cool down in the Mississippi where there was even more laughter.  All in all, not a bad way to spend a sweltering late summer day!

{Mr. & Mrs. N} Minnesota Wedding Photographer

Wow!  What a fun wedding weekend we had in Minnesota with this lovely couple!  They were so full of excitement and the day turned out very well!  Their adventurous spirits took them on a hike up above a waterfall - which lead to the stunning image above!  Then, we spent the rest of the time we had with them before their ceremony wandering around this gorgeous country property.  

Her bouquet was simply stunning!  It was a very full country style gathering, complete with sunflowers, roses, and many other lovely blooms, berries, pods, and grasses.  She definitely got her workout from carrying it around, but it made the perfect addition to her gorgeous gown!  Plus, it provided a great setting for a quick shot of their wedding bands.  

We always love getting to know a bride and groom and really get a great feel for their personalities when their wedding party is around.  This fun crew was no exception!  The guys inspired lots of laughter that day, cracking jokes every other second.  The ladies were also full of humor and good cheer.  The day went so smoothly because everyone was so open to photos and simply enjoying their time with the couple on such a big day!

Yes, you're seeing that right!  This beautiful bride is not afraid of slimy creatures and wanted to make sure she kissed her last frog before her wedding to her prince!  Her bridesmaids actually captured the little fellow with their bare hands - kudos to those daring gals!  After a few shots (including a real smooch on the frogs nose), they released him safely into the grass near the edge of the pond.  Definitely a first for us as photographers, but we loved the opportunity to catch such a fun and silly shot!

The groomsmen whisked the groom away before the ceremony in one of their favorite trucks, complete with a "burnout".  Then, after a lovely ceremony, the day concluded with a fun and relaxed reception.  We were so excited to have the chance to see this couple (who we've known for quite some time) tie the knot!  We spent some of the wedding as their photographers and some as their guests and we were so happy to be able  to join in the celebration!

{Miss A's Styled Shoot} La Crosse Wisconsin Photographer

Little Miss A is just too sweet!  She's been one of our go to models as her mom and I are friends - but she never disappoints!  She rocked it at demonstrating our loose snow white/sleeping beauty theme that we had in mind.  We got the chance to try out our new lace crown (one of our favorite new props).  Plus, the sun at the park was absolutely stunning!  We couldn't have asked for a better turnout to this styled shoot!

K & A Wedding | La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

 

What a fun couple we photographed a few weekends ago!  K and A were married in La Crosse, on the Jay Street Pier to be exact.  It was a warm summer day when they exchanged their vows right off the water.  There was just so much love surrounding this couple on their big day - it was such a wonderful thing to witness!

Their wedding sported a vibrant peacock theme, with feathers in place of flowers throughout the ceremony and reception.  While we created some photos with the couple near the fountain, their guests travelled into the Cargill Room of the Waterfront Restaurant.  The bride even wore a custom, handmade dress that was designed specifically for her.  Besides all the gorgeousness, the happiness was simply overwhelming and truly showed through in their photos!

The T Family | Onalaska Wisconsin Family Photograher

The giggles of little ones are truly contagious!  The T Family was so much fun during their summer session!  There was quite a bit of laughter and too much love to contain.  Little C is already 18 months old - so grown up already!  We've been photographing his since he in his mom's tummy and it's been a joy watching him become an adorable toddler.

We had a lovely, overcast day, which made for a very comfortable session, especially considering how warm this summer has been.  A little day in the park, off the river, surrounded by huge shade trees - it couldn't have been more perfect!  We can't wait to see this family again in the future!

The J Family | La Crosse Wisconsin Family Photographer

These kiddos couldn't have been any cuter!  With a very fun and silly 4 year old big brother and an adorable 3 month old little brother , we had a bunch of fun during their session!  We snuck in some separate cuddle time with mom and dad and even visited the pond for some lovely, sunny sleepy shots.  Plus, who can resist a lovely, warm summer day for some play time at the park?!  All in all, fun session!

The W Family | La Crosse Wisconsin Family Photographer

18 months is just such a fun age!  This little guy was doing it all right, exploring every little corner of the park, finding all the sticks, and using all those sticks to dig in the loose dirt underfoot!  I got the feeling that he was more interested in playing than having his photos done, but, who could blame him, the outdoors are just too much fun.  Also, when you're as cute as he is, you can get away with anything!

Mom and Dad were definitely enjoying their time with Little A!  Between a few breaks for a sip of milk and quick cuddle, we snuck in a few shots of the whole family together.  And look at those smiles, this family clearly enjoys spending an afternoon in the park together.  All in all, a wonderfully exciting, and fairly warm, summer afternoon!

Class of 2014 - S | West Salem Wisconsin Senior Photographer

This gorgeous young lady is a soon-to-be senior at West Salem High School!  She was so much fun to work with (and let us get super creative, even sacrificing her prom dress for the sake of an awesome water shot)!  She brought along a bunch of stylish clothes, full of summer colors, which made her shots so vibrant.  Plus, who doesn't love a splash of color with some sparkly pink eye shadow and a pink gloss over her lips?!

Not only was she fun to hang out with during her session and quite comfortable in front of the camera, she as has a passion for photography.  Of course, I had to take advantage of that - being a photographer myself!  We dusted off a couple of old cameras we have in our vintage collection at the studio and brought them along for the shoot.  Armed with a blanket, a 35 mm Vivitar, and a couple framed shots of her work, we were able to create a little grouping of artistic images for this budding photographer!

Baby J | La Crosse Wisconsin Baby Photographer

So many smiles this afternoon - so many!  Baby J was full of toothy (hey, she's got a few, so it counts) grins!  Plus, her big sister stood next to me and did some dances, played a little peek-a-boo, and made some funny faces, which just inspired more and more laughter!  All in all, quite the giggly day for us.

With a gorgeous summer day and some lovely floral dresses, we had a great shoot in the park with this little fashionista!  We've been photographing Baby J since she was born and have enjoyed watching her grow into a lovely little lady.  We can't wait to see what her next and final session in our Baby Steps Plan (1 year) holds for us!  To see a few shots from her previous sessions click here, here and here.

Little E & E | Onalaska Wisconsin Kid Photographer

 Sisters are part of a very special little relationship - best friends, partners in crime, each other's entertainment...  We've been photographing E and E since big sister E was born and what a journey it's been!  This time, we were out on their grandparent's farm, just enjoying a warm summer day.  With a little swing time, the day was full of silliness. 

Plus, who doesn't love some silly, giggly toe time - and chairs that are big enough to squeeze two little ladies in!  There was plenty of laughing going on, once little E realized she was actually enjoying all the silly faces her sister was making and all the tickling from mom nearby.  Sometimes, our toes are the best entertainment!

A & T Wedding | La Crosse Wisconsin Weddng Photographer

Such a stunning wedding with such a stunning couple!  A & T said "I do" on a beautiful Saturday in late June and we were so honored to be able to capture the memories of their big day!  Their ceremony took place at a church in Halfway Creek Lutheran Church in Holmen, WI.  Surrounded by family and friends, they exchanged vows they wrote themselves with tearful joy.

After their ceremony, we all headed to a local park to take advantage of the weather, overcast and warm, without the rain!  A chose a beautiful color scheme for their wedding: black, white, and green (A's favorite color, as evident by her awesome green shoes)!  Things went so smoothly and there wasn't a hiccup, besides the bugs that followed us around the park. 

They had their reception at The Best Western in La Crosse, WI.  Their first dance was so wonderful to watch.  Cuddled close and gazing into one another's eyes, they were a real demonstration of happiness and love.  Photographing such special moments is one of our favorite things to do!  Just as we were finishing our services for the day, the DJ announced that a severe thunderstorm had rolled in, so luckily it missed all the important outdoor moments of the day!  All in all, it was a gorgeous wedding to celebrate the beginning of a wonderful couple's new life together!

M & C Wedding | Minnesota Wedding Photographer

What a beautiful Minnesota day for a lovely farm wedding!  We had the honor of photographing M & C's big day and what a day it was!  With a beautifully overcast sky, complete with warm temps and no rain, their day couldn't have started any better!  The sun even came out right before their ceremony, casting it's golden afternoon light over the yard near the pasture where they were married.  With a herd of calves keeping an eye on the proceedings, their photos truly display the real life of this couple! 

  

 

  

 Bride C got ready in their home and they met outside for their first sighting of each other.  Then, it was off to the nearby pasture for a round of photos before the ceremony.  With a bouquet of gorgeous flowers, a handsome neutral toned suit, and a stunning draped dress, they were a couple full of style and love!

 

  

 After the ceremony everyone headed to another area of the farm where the couple hosted a dinner and reception.  The best man and maid of honor gave hilarious and sentimental speeches, which brought tons of laughter and a few tears of joy to the room.  The entire crowd gathered around to watch their first dance, which was extremely sweet and moving!  We had such a wonderful time capturing the memories of this happy day and wish M & C a lifetime of love!
