{B & K Engaged} La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

Another engagement - we can not get enough of all these couples in love!  B & K are set to be wed in April of 2015.  With such a fun loving couple, their engagement session was full of fun and laughter. I'm sure their wedding will be no different!  We spent some time exploring a park in West Salem, WI.  And despite being loyal fans to two opposing football teams (Green Bay Packers for her and Pittsburgh Steelers for him) they were able to find some middle ground.  We actually had their original engagement session scheduled another day, but about 30 minutes into the shoot, the clouds opened up and rained us out.  Right before the heaviest of the downpour, we managed to get a lovely umbrella shot which made the whole dreary worthwhile!

{D & D Engaged} La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

Ah - so much love!  Our favorite!  D and D are engaged and getting married later this year and we can't wait for their wedding!  Engagement sessions are such a great way for us to get to know our future brides and grooms.  We saw just how in love this very happy couple is and how wonderful their lives together are.  We met in a park in West Salem, WI and enjoyed the lovely weather and sunshine - despite it having been freezing temperatures just the day before!  2014 will be a wonderful wedding season!

Baby E | West Salem Wisconsin Baby Photographer

Our last scheduled session of 2013 couldn't have been better!  Baby E was just too adorable for words.  He was less than a week old and brought along his adorable Christmas hat for his photos.  Plus, his mom brought this gorgeous basket and cushioning to really personalize their session.  We learned a valuable lesson this day too: all Baby E needs for his nap is a comfortable basket - he snoozed the whole time he laid there!

Class of 2014 - S | West Salem Wisconsin Senior Photographer

This gorgeous young lady is a soon-to-be senior at West Salem High School!  She was so much fun to work with (and let us get super creative, even sacrificing her prom dress for the sake of an awesome water shot)!  She brought along a bunch of stylish clothes, full of summer colors, which made her shots so vibrant.  Plus, who doesn't love a splash of color with some sparkly pink eye shadow and a pink gloss over her lips?!

Not only was she fun to hang out with during her session and quite comfortable in front of the camera, she as has a passion for photography.  Of course, I had to take advantage of that - being a photographer myself!  We dusted off a couple of old cameras we have in our vintage collection at the studio and brought them along for the shoot.  Armed with a blanket, a 35 mm Vivitar, and a couple framed shots of her work, we were able to create a little grouping of artistic images for this budding photographer!

Class of 2014 - A | West Salem Wisconsin Senior Photographer

 What an awesome dude we photographed in and around downtown La Crosse!  A soon-to-be senior at West Salem High School, A is quite a fun guy!  He came to his session relaxed and ready to create some awesome shots - complete with his stunning blue class ring.  He seems to have a bright future ahead of him and he's surrounded by a great set of parents!

We explored a local park during the first part of his session, moved to a perfect alleyway, then finished in the studio, where we created the yearbook photo he needed.  It's always so fun to hear what our seniors want from their photos and what their parents want.  We always keep it a nice mix to make sure we get the classic shots for mom and dad as well as the rock star shots where our seniors can show off their true personality!

Sneak Peek - The B Family | West Salem Wisconsin Family Photographer

What a fun family we had the pleasure of working with a couple weekends ago!  Extended family shoots are always interesting as there is such a big group of people (usually with some people from other families mixed in, too).  This group was no different and they were a total blast!  There was also a sweet big dog in the group too, but he was just too tuckered out by the time we got to this shot to join in!

The session was actually a gift to the matriarch of the family for her birthday and what a wonderful gift photos make!  She seemed to really enjoy having her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren (plus, the grand puppy) gathered together and she really gave off such a wonderfully welcoming feeling!  Plus, the two youngest family members, Little N & Baby E were just too cute for words - which makes our job even more fun!

2nd Annual Jingle Bark | Onalaska Wisconsin Pet Photographers

Our 2nd annual Jingle Bark went off without a hitch!  Okay, maybe not a hitch, but there was a quality amount of drool, barks, shedding, and puppy nibbles.  But we wouldn't have it any other way!  The bloopers above are some of the funniest memories from last Saturday!  This is just such a fun event to do each year and we get to meet so many awesome dogs and their parents.  We again teamed up with the wonderful ladies of Marcie's Pet Spa in West Salem, WI and we brought along a few new props and backgrounds.  Also, a portion of the proceeds this year went to benefit The Craig Family (a local family) who are saving up money for their daughter's pet therapy dog (which is quite expensive due to the extensive training it will receive in order to best aide specialized needs).  It warms our hearts that we're able to provide a little assistance for a great cause; all while enjoying snuggles, licked kisses, and wagging tails!  We hope to see an even greater turn out next year for our 3rd annual event, so get those pups excited! The Dog Spa | West Salem Wisconsin Photographer

The lovely ladies of Marcie's Pet Spa in West Salem, WI are at it again!  With a move to a larger location just across the street from their old spot (Leonard St.) and a major expanse in staff, they are growing faster than the pooches they groom and care for can chase a Frisbee!  We not only have been bringing our dogs to visit Marcie for quite some time, we also work with her business for our annual pet portrait charity event, Jingle Bark.  After the blast we had creating their staff photos (literally, the laughing you see in the photo on the right was all natural - no prompting required), we sat down for a few minutes to organize this year's Jingle Bark!  We'll release more information about that soon, but until then, make sure all you dog owners check out Marcie's Pet Spa - awesome people who do an awesome job with our furry family members! Sneak Peek - Baby S | West Salem Wisconsin Baby Photographer

Sneak Peek - Baby S | West Salem Wisconsin Baby Photographer

The Jingle Bark Bloopers Mini-Reel | West Salem Pet Photographer

When you photography dozens of dogs in one day, you're bound to end up with a few bloopers.  And that we did!  Here's just a few of our favorite outtakes of the day (and we still have another day of shooting tomorrow)!  Blinks, shakes, jumps, sneezes, drooling mouths - we saw it all (but not one accident in the shooting area)!  The first annual Jingle Bark is off to a great start so far!  The furry folks are quite hilarious, needless to say!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas (at least in our studio photos)!  Christmas is my favorite time of year (other than the icy coldness) and I love creating holiday photos too!  This little one is quite thrilled to be in one of our scenes this year, though, we did have to bribe her with an ornament for her to hold (luckily, she's keeping it hidden)!  It's getting close to the cut-off time to get those holiday photos done and have those cards ordered, stamped, and ready to mail - so hurry, hurry, hurry and book if you haven't done so yet before time runs out!  It might seem a bit early but Christmas is on it's way and we can't wait!

Sometimes we get little ones in our studio who just love to smile and that was definitely the case this little lady!  It took her all of three minutes or so to warm up to me, then, it was all bright eyes, rosy cheeks, and gummy smiles from there on out!  All she required was a little cheer and she was cracking smiles left and right!  I got a cheek ache from smiling along with her (and I thought I was a big smiler)!  I think, during the 5 months we've had our studio location open, I have developed some serious smile lines from all the laughing I've done with clients (but it's been well worth it)!

Sneak Peek - The Bubble Gum Besties | West Salem Wisconsin Glamour Photographer

How fun are these two?!  These two best friends visited us today in the studio!  We had a bit of difficulty with the bubble gum (it was in the air conditioning and it was a bit hard to chew) but sore jaws aside, they blew some awesome (and some not so awesome but equally fun) bubbles!  We also did a ton of other fun shots, so stay tuned!  We even got some butterflies in the action!  I'm so excited to work on them and these girls were just great to work with!

I've been working on these shots for this guy's senior photos and everything is coming along great! He was great with his poses and every shot is dynamic and ready to go! It's such a change from my normal baby and children photography and it's kind of fun to branch out a bit for the H.S. Senior season! (Although, I do love those little one's who visit the studio!)

Sneak Peek - N, The West Salem (soon-to-be) Senior! | West Salem Wisconsin High School Senior Photographer

This senior shoot was crazy fun!  N is currently finishing his junior year at West Salem H.S. and is quite the athlete!  He plays football, baseball, and basketball - which made for some very fun props!  We spent the first half of the session outdoors and then moved into the studio.  He had a great crew with him too - mom, girlfriend, little brother - who really helped us keep everything in order and made the shoot go super smooth!  I can't wait to post more as I go through them; he's going to have quite the time trying to choose his favorites as pretty much every shot turned out great!  He was so easy to work with and I can't wait to see what his little brother has to offer in 7 years!  Congratulations on all your hard work N, enjoy your senior year and best of luck in your future endeavors!
