{M & L Engagement} La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

We met with M & L near Riverside Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin for their engagement session during a very, very warm day!  We were able to avoid the rain, but the humidity followed us through the entire session.  But this wonderful is so in love, they don't even look like the warmth was a bother in their images.  We'll be photographing their wedding later this year and it was great getting to know them a bit more!  We even discovered that she'll be getting a whole new ring for her wedding set - that's a lucky woman!

{Class of 2014 - W} Winona Minnesota High School Photographer

Too bad the warm weather didn't come with the awesome Hawaiian print shirts W brought with him for his senior session!  (He even braved the near zero temps for a few shots in the snow!)  We had so much fun creating his photos and he kept it smooth with his side smile and relaxed poses.  Plus, how else can rock a suit and tie like this guy?!  All in all, we had a blast with W and wish him all the best as he finishes his last semester in high school!

The Y Family | La Crosse Wisconsin Family Photographer

A dog can be such a wonderful part of a family and we love working with these furry folks!  Biggie (seriously, the perfect name) was more than content to stay in mom's arms.  But after we took advantage of the early part of the session to capture these guys with their furry family members at their home, we moved to another outdoor location to get a few more shots.  They were awesome at pretending there was no cold and no wind and it made for a wonderful session!  We love getting the chance to meet our clients at their homes and create very personalized images - all in all, very fun session!

Class-of-2014 S | Onalaska Wisconsin Senior Photographer

This handsome young man is off to his senior year at Onalaska High School!  He was quite the easy going fellow to work with, which meant that we were able to incorporate a bunch of different ideas into his shoot for a wonderfully diverse set of images.  We have been so lucky to have been able to work with so many awesome seniors this year and S is no exception to that!

Plus, he has got quite the skills on the tennis court!  We actually got to see a few tennis moves of his and it was quite impressive.  He plays for his high school team and his mom was telling us all about his accomplishments on the court!  We couldn't resist hitting a court as our second location for some intense tennis shots.  But, S is quite well rounded, because he was able to break into a handsome smile when we needed it too!

Class of 2014 - B | Bangor Wisconsin Senior Photographer

B is a senior at Bangor High School and is quite the nice guy!  We had a lot of fun during his session at a local park.  But, he really showed his star potential when he put on his football uniform!  He is an offensive lineman and seemed quite at home on the football field!  We just have too much fun with seniors and all the cool hobby stuff and sports gear they bring along with them!

He also brought along his shot gun for some other shots (no pun intended)!  With a cool camo tie and a jacket, he rocked his gun photos!  (We didn't do any actual shooting, but it was cool none-the-less!)  His mom and dad joined us for the shoot and we were all laughing by the end.  The further along we got in the shoot, the more and more relaxed B became and that led to some very fun images.  Just like most of the senior guys we work with, he was pretty laid back and easy going, which made his images very natural!

Class of 2014 - A | West Salem Wisconsin Senior Photographer

 What an awesome dude we photographed in and around downtown La Crosse!  A soon-to-be senior at West Salem High School, A is quite a fun guy!  He came to his session relaxed and ready to create some awesome shots - complete with his stunning blue class ring.  He seems to have a bright future ahead of him and he's surrounded by a great set of parents!

We explored a local park during the first part of his session, moved to a perfect alleyway, then finished in the studio, where we created the yearbook photo he needed.  It's always so fun to hear what our seniors want from their photos and what their parents want.  We always keep it a nice mix to make sure we get the classic shots for mom and dad as well as the rock star shots where our seniors can show off their true personality!

Sneak Peek - D & L Engagement | La Crosse Wisconsin Engagement Photographer

The snow photographs gorgeously and it's always a blast to get a chance to get out and take some shots - but I'm usually too much of a winter-wimp to actually expand my portfolio much during this season.  However, when I get a couple that wants to brave the low temperatures for some fun shots - I can't resist!  We were actually set to do this session earlier in the year, but rain caused us to reschedule.  As numb as my fingers were and as red as my cheeks were at the end of the day, we got a bunch of great photos for D & L's  engagement session!  What a wonderful couple and there was so much love to be seen through my viewfinder!

Despite the nippiness yesterday, D & L still managed to pull off an awesome 1920s themed session!  She was dressed to the nines in an awesome flapper dress and fishnets and he had a pretty smooth suit on!  And we were outside the whole time for this one!  We used the gorgeous old brick walls that La Crosse is filled with and just had fun with this half of the shoot!  Now all I have to do is find some great music to edit to - I'm thinking the Chicago soundtrack!

I just love engagement shoots!  They're so fun, free, and full of love!  It's always so great to work with a couple who truly enjoy being with one another and it always shows so clearly in the images!  Plus, we get to get really creative and a bit silly at times in finding ways to show off their feelings! 

Sneak Peek - B & J Engagement | La Crosse Wisconsin Engagement Photographer

What a wonderful day we had today with this couple!  We photographed an expo for 95.7 The Rock, then took off to meet with B & J, a couple who just booked a wedding with us.  They were so fun to work with - relaxed with a sense of humor, it was great!  The sky was slightly overcast, the temps were higher than they'd been all week, and the outfits they choose matched beautifully with the woodsy feel of late Fall.  It was kind of like a photographer's dream come true!  Other than all the awesome photos we got, I had a bit of a crazy afternoon!  I realized when I got to my studio that I had forgotten all my camera cards at home with my laptop.  Then, I got done shooting the expo and realized that I didn't bring along my socks for the boots I had to change into.  I think my memory is slipping!  But, nonetheless, things ended up working out and it was a quite a fun day/evening!

I had the privilege of having my dad visit the studio this evening to get an updated business headshot!  I love when family and friends step in front of my lens!  He's taking some more grad school courses in Alabama shortly and was in need of an updated image.  He looked really sharp in his suit and now he's got the photos to prove it!

This is a little glimpse of the jam session I got to enjoy during a recent senior photo session!  I've been getting a lot of musicians into the studio lately and it is quite fun to work with such talented young adults!  The senior season is in full swing!!!

Tonight, J, an upcoming senior at Coulee Christian, visited the studio today and we had a blast!  He's quite the musician and I got a few mini concerts during the shoot!  Too bad we didn't have a chance to plug in the amp and really rock out!  But, we did take advantage of this great brick wall near the studio and got a little attention from passers-by!  So far, I've met some very awesome students in the class of 2012 - I think they're going to be a great bunch by the time they all reach graduation!

What a wonderful wedding this was!  You can just see in this image how much fun the entire wedding party was having and don't you just love those colors!  (I may be a bit biased - teal and brown are my favorite colors!)  The images are coming along great and with such a beautiful couple, it makes my job even easier!

I've been working on these shots for this guy's senior photos and everything is coming along great! He was great with his poses and every shot is dynamic and ready to go! It's such a change from my normal baby and children photography and it's kind of fun to branch out a bit for the H.S. Senior season! (Although, I do love those little one's who visit the studio!)

Sneak Peek - N, The West Salem (soon-to-be) Senior! | West Salem Wisconsin High School Senior Photographer

This senior shoot was crazy fun!  N is currently finishing his junior year at West Salem H.S. and is quite the athlete!  He plays football, baseball, and basketball - which made for some very fun props!  We spent the first half of the session outdoors and then moved into the studio.  He had a great crew with him too - mom, girlfriend, little brother - who really helped us keep everything in order and made the shoot go super smooth!  I can't wait to post more as I go through them; he's going to have quite the time trying to choose his favorites as pretty much every shot turned out great!  He was so easy to work with and I can't wait to see what his little brother has to offer in 7 years!  Congratulations on all your hard work N, enjoy your senior year and best of luck in your future endeavors!
