The R Wedding | La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

  

This wedding took us on a road trip to a city near Madison. When we got to the farm where this couple was married, we were blown away with how beautifully the barn was decorated for the ceremony and reception. The bride's family has had the farm for many years and it was so special hearing all of the memories they have made there. The bride and groom had a gorgeous day and sunset filled evening for a late fall wedding. To end the night, the couple had an awesome fireworks display! All of the family's hard work getting prepared for the wedding day paid off beautifully! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. R! Thank you for letting us share your special day.

R & C Engagement | La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

R & C were such troopers for their engagement session!  They wanted to catch some of the last of the Fall and they did so, gorgeously, while freezing to the bone!  Although, when being very cold brings about sweet, romantic hugs like the one above, you really can't complain!  They were so much fun, we spent a lot of time laughing together.  Plus, we found some lovely wooded spots with a whole bunch of golden leaves to take advantage of.  With such a wonderful couple, their wedding in 2014 is sure to be perfect!

The S Family | Holmen Wisconsin Family Photographer

Despite the rain drops that started to fall during our session, this family was all smiles!  What a joy they were to work with!  We had to make a last minute decision to move their session into our studio due to the incredibly rainy weather, but, luckily, we were able to catch a few minutes of break from the rain in the middle of their session.  So, we snuck outside to the backyard of our studio (a fun perk of our newer Onalaska, WI location) and got some lovely Fall shots.

The 5 members of this family were all so comfortable together, especially when I pushed the limits and asked the kiddos to cuddle close.  But this bear hug resulted in some wonderful expressions - such happiness!  That's what we love to see - a family full of love - our favorite!

The M Family | Holmen Wisconsin Family Photographer

Getting 4 kids together and a dog takes a lot of coordination! We are so happy this family came to us for their family photos. I think we were able to utilize the last warm day with this family.
These kids were so funny and had many faces for the camera. Luckily, they showed us some good smiles as well. One of the kids and the dad made a great bench for the photo shoot as well. So talented!! Thanks again M family for allowing us to take your family photos!

D & M Engagement | Winona Minnesota Wedding Photographer

Such a fun way to spend a Fall afternoon!  We meet D & M in Winona, Minnesota to create their engagement photos.  The sun was absolutely lovely, as well as the gorgeous fall tones.  Other than the temperature being just a bit cooler than we would have preferred, we couldn't have asked for a better environmental set up! 

Many a laughs were shared during their session too!  D & M were very relaxed and really seemed to enjoy their time together.  Plus, they brought along some fun ideas they wanted to try to really add a personal touch to their session - which is always a fun way for our clients to help us express their true personalities!  We can't wait for their 2014 wedding - it's sure to be filled with much laughter and love!

The H Family | Winona Minnesota Family Photographer

This family was just too cute!  With a whole bunch of little ones, we had quite the fun time in Winona, MN for their session.  With all the personalities and adorable faces - we couldn't help but snap a bunch of individual shots of this brood!  The real excitement came when we brought the family's new puppy into the group.  We actually got a shot with everyone looking our way and it made it all worth while!  Plus, could these guys have picked any better outfits - they all looked so great!

The M Family | Onalaska Wisconsin Family Photographer

What a fun family!  They're so full of laughter!  It was actually a bit of a bittersweet moment as they finished their last session in our Baby Steps Plan (they had Little Sister J photographed from newborn through 1 year, with a session every three months to document her growth).  They also recently moved out of town and with over an hour drive to visit our studio, we can only hope to see them and their sweet girls again in the future!  That's the downfall of our job - we get so attached to all the wonderful families that make up our EIP family!  But, we did get to enjoy the lovely Fall weather together!  (To see a little peek into their previous sessions, click here, here, and here).

Little P | La Crosse Wisconsin Child Photographer

Fall is sticking around just a bit longer than we expected and we are taking full advantage of it!  Despite the nippy temps, Little P braved it outside for a few adorable shots with her lovely vest.  Every time we see her, she is more and more stylish!  Plus, who doesn't want a pair of the boots she's rocking?!  I know I do!

We've been able to watch this adorable young lady grow up into this beautiful two year old and it's been so much fun!  We've always enjoyed her stunning blue eyes (they shone at her 3 month old session here) and she loves flashing that coy smile (especially when she's nibbling on pearls like she did in this session here)!  All in all, she's been fun to have in the studio and out and about for sessions, along with her brother and parents as well and we can't wait to see more of this family as time goes on!  Also, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Honeymooning | Wisconsin & Minnesota Photographer

What an amazing beginning of October we've had!  Not only did September bring many new clients to the studio, we also got to see a bunch of past clients as well!  So, we went into October in a daze, our minds filled with all the fun and happiness the busy days of September provided.  Then, on October 5th, I (Savanna) got married!  To add to the whirlwind, I travelled with my new husband to Duluth, MN for the few days of our honeymoon!  We had a blast taking photos together (he's also a photographer) and spending time together as newlyweds.  We found a magnificently gorgeous waterfall at the Duluth Zoo, MN.  We also visited the shores in Two Harbors, MN to admire Split Rock Lighthouse.  Now, we're back in the studio and back in the swing of things!  October is proving to be no different than September, with most of our days booked solid with shoots.  As crazy as it's getting, we aren't complaining!  We are loving the Fall!

Sneak Peek - Baby CJ | Onalaska Wisconsin Baby Photographer

This little cutie has a duck hunter for a daddy, so of course he needed pictures with some decoys! I am sure in a few short years he will be helping pick up decoys from the water. But until then, he will be keeping his mommy and daddy on their toes as a rambunctious one year old! And there's just nothing better than wonderfully crunchy fallen leaves, in a pile thick enough to sink into! So when we saw all the leaves we knew exactly what to do with them - they are a lovely addition to the vintage look.  Baby CJ may have been one of our last little guys to get a chance to take advantage of what was left of Fall and we had a great time with him! Sneak Peek - The S Family | La Crosse Wisconsin Family Photographer

Laughter, real laughter, shared among family members is one of the best sounds on Earth!  And giggles - giggles from tiny little guys like Little C; that is just an absolutely adorable noise!  Despite the chill in the air, the occasional shiver, and the rosy cheeks that are inevitable this time of year, the S Family were so wonderful during their session.  The Fall season left us with a wonderfully thick layer of leaves covering the cool ground and there's only one thing you can do with a big bunch of leaves - toss them!  It was the tossing of said leaves that inspired this little toothy grin and it was well worth it! Sneak Peek - The B Family | Onalaska Wisconsin Family Photographer

It's those quick moments that happen during a shoot that remind us just how precious families are!  A simple snuggle moment turns into a giant bear hug, complete with big toothy grins and a mom and dad who are quite proud of their brood!  The B Family couldn't have been any easier to work with (especially considering the fact that they brought along four kiddos ages 10 through 3)!  We had a blast during their shoot on what was an oddly warm day for the cool Fall we've been having (it was in the 70s).  Also, they all dressed very nicely and coordinated very well for their shoot too, which is huge when you're looking for photos that you'll want to show off to everyone you know! On one of the last warm-ish Fall days we headed out to a forest trail with the seven members (including the furry ones) of the M Family for a shoot.  This family was a blast to work with!  They were all in great moods, full of laughter!  Even the two dogs, despite the small bursts of excitement when a few other dogs walked past, were quite easy-going.  For never having had their family photos taken, they mentioned being pleasantly surprised at how fun it was - which is always a wonderful compliment for us!  We love when families can relax in front of our lens and enjoy the moments spent together and the memories shared! What an adorable family I had the chance to see again just a bit ago!  I've been photographing this family since before Little Sister P was born and it's really been a joy getting to know them!  This is the first time we've done a group shot with all four members of the family (besides an extended family shoot this summer).  Big Brother B was full of energy for this shoot and we all had a blast laughing together!  And what a gorgeous Fall afternoon we ended up having - perfect weather for a lovely family walk in the park! Sneak Peek - E & S Wedding | La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

This is a little diptych from one of our last weddings of 2011 (besides one or two in November & December).  They were such a lovely couple and their outdoor shots were gorgeous, especially with the gorgeous Fall colors they choose.  But the intimate moment between E & S during their first dance was so sweet!  They're such a great couple and seem to have such a wonderful bond - their love is quite obvious!  As busy as weddings keep us, being able to work with amazing couples at gorgeous wedding full of love makes it all worth it!

It was a warm Fall day in the park when these little ladies went to play!  Running here, running there, running everywhere - that was the official park activity!  But there was lovely warm sunshine hitting the golden leaves, creating the happiest fall look.  Plus, the giggles can almost be heard through the photo!  Throwing leaves way up over your head is always fun and we definitely took advantage of the opportunity this day!

I think Fall might be nearing it's end as there seem to be more leaves on the ground than on the trees.  But it's still a wonderful time for outdoor photos and we've been having a blast working with families in the local parks!  This family was full of energy for their shoot and we had a ton of fun working together!  The weather was gorgeous (it was cold, windy, and rainy the following day) and the sun was giving us a lovely golden tone - all in all, great photo weather!  I'm hoping it stays calm for just a bit longer, so we can squeeze in as many shoots as we can before it's officially time to heat up the studio!  Our studio is always an option (and it's especially helpful for the little ones during winter) but it's nice to have the option to shoot outdoors!  But until the snowflakes fly (and a few times when they are flying) we'll be having a ton of fun outside!
