Sneak Peek - Baby D | La Crosse Wisconsin Baby Photographer

Those sweet, sweet moments, when tiny, new little babies fall fast asleep, swaddled and warm, not a care in the world...  It's those beautiful moments that can be the hardest to capture and yet the most peaceful to witness!  This little lady was happiest when she was snuggled up, with a full tummy.  Although, I think no one can deny just how nice a cozy slumber can be!

Her grandma actually handmade the yarn cocoon that she is napping in - amazing right?!  I think I may have to recruit her as an official prop maker for the studio (wink, wink)!  Baby D has the most adorable little lips too, perfectly plump and pink!  I hope to see her as she grows up!

Sneak Peek - Baby K | Onalaska Wisconsin Baby Photographer

Adorable Baby K decided that she was going to stay wide awake for most of her session.  She only snuck in a few Zs here and there, so we had to be quick to catch those little eyes closed when we had the chance.  So, despite the appearances in these sneak peeks, she was actually a very attentive little subject!  But what a gorgeous little lady she is, asleep or awake!

She was just over two weeks old when she stopped in for a visit but was full of personality.  Just like most of the little ones we see, she made sure that we worked around her schedule, which included a few pauses for snack time!  But it's always such a joy to work with brand new babies!  And her parents were wonderful with her - it was great getting to know her whole family!  I've known her mom for a while through business interactions and she is a very nice woman, I think her daughter is taking after her already!  Below is a better illustration of the rest of her session, wide eyed and cuddled safely in mom and dad's arms!

Sneak Peek - Sisters J & O | La Crosse Wisconsin Family Photographer

What a sweet, relaxed face Baby J has...  She was very much enjoying herself as she modelled for us!  With big sister O running behind me every now and then, she had plenty of entertainment!  I've been able to see this family a few times now and I knew them before Baby J joined them; it's always quite fun watching families grow!  (See a few peeks for their earlier sessions here & here.)

And the smiles on these girls - huge!  They made me laugh right along with them and it was so much fun!  But, of course, not every photo can be that easy to create.  I have a sister too and I know what it's like during those brief moments when you're just not in agreement!  No sibling shoot is complete without a shot like this:

Sneak Peek - Baby J | Onalaska Wisconsin Baby Photographer

What a handsome little man we got to photograph the day before New Year's Eve.  It was a great way to say goodbye to the old year and ring in the new!  This shoot actually happened out in Minnesota but luckily we were tucked away in a nice warm home because it was quite chilly.  Plus, did he rock that newsboy cap or what?!

I just don't know how his parents deal with this adorable face on a daily basis - he is just too cute for words!  I must admit, I may be a bit biased as he is my cousin's 6 month old son, but still!  (wink, wink)  His session flew by in a breeze because it just took a little click of the tongue to bring about the grins.  All in all, wonderful working vacation!

Sneak Peek - Baby L | Onalaska Wisconsin Baby Photographer

Baby L was our last Christmas shoot for the season and what a blast he was!  Dressed well for the season, he rocked his adorable fleece vest.  He made for an incredibly quick session too - giving me all his cute faces right off the bat without much effort on my part!  At just 9 months old, little ones don't often have the patience to put up with the silly camera lady for very long, but he did wonderfully!  Plus, how cute does he look with a little garland and some ornaments?! Baby J stopped in again for a family shoot and his one year shots.  But, even better than the adorable smiles he gave me and the silly game of throw-the-big-plastic-ornaments game we played, was the fact that he decided he was going to start walking like a champ during his session!  His parent's told me that he had taken a few steps the day before, but he was walking circles around the studio!  It was such a joy to witness!  Just another awesome milestone to occur in our studio! The holidays are nearing and it's just such a wonderful time to be a portrait photographer!  Not only do we get to see so many awesome families, but we get to have so much fun with the little ones who visit!  Plus, is there really any better Christmas gift than that of an adorable little girl?!  Santa would really have fun getting this one under the tree!  Sometimes it's just all about the silliness!

2nd Annual Jingle Bark | Onalaska Wisconsin Pet Photographers

Our 2nd annual Jingle Bark went off without a hitch!  Okay, maybe not a hitch, but there was a quality amount of drool, barks, shedding, and puppy nibbles.  But we wouldn't have it any other way!  The bloopers above are some of the funniest memories from last Saturday!  This is just such a fun event to do each year and we get to meet so many awesome dogs and their parents.  We again teamed up with the wonderful ladies of Marcie's Pet Spa in West Salem, WI and we brought along a few new props and backgrounds.  Also, a portion of the proceeds this year went to benefit The Craig Family (a local family) who are saving up money for their daughter's pet therapy dog (which is quite expensive due to the extensive training it will receive in order to best aide specialized needs).  It warms our hearts that we're able to provide a little assistance for a great cause; all while enjoying snuggles, licked kisses, and wagging tails!  We hope to see an even greater turn out next year for our 3rd annual event, so get those pups excited! Sneak Peek - Parents-To-Be A & D | Onalaska Wisconsin Maternity Photographer

Can you guess what this wonderful couple is expecting?  Yep, our blue ribbon was put to good use the other day when A & D stopped in for a mini maternity session!  They will soon be adding a little baby boy to their family, making a group of three early next year!  Currently in Winona, MN, they made the drive to our studio (about 30 minutes) for their session.  It's always such a compliment when our clients travel from other towns for sessions with us - we definitely appreciate it!

They were both so easy going and brought along their sense of humor, which made the whole session such a joy.  Plus, we got to play on the black and white theme with these contrasting shots.  They are so content and peaceful as they wait for their little one (whose name is being kept secret for now) to arrive.  I bet they will be amazing parents and I hope to have the chance to meet their little bundle of joy after he arrives! Sneak Peek - The S Family | Onalaska Wisconsin Family Photographer

Sometimes you just have to let loose and have some fun and this family was definitely prepared for that!  Plus, don't you just love that candy stained tongue from the little guy in the front?!  With grandparents, grown siblings, and the newest kids in the family, this group got everyone together for a big family shot.  It must have been all the turkey they ate the day before (which was Thanksgiving) that inspired this silliness, but it was well worth it (especially since it lead to some very cute smiles in the following images)!  Grandma R is actually enrolled in the Photo Composition courses (renamed Photo Techniques for next semester) that Savanna teaches at Western Technical College, so it was really wonderful getting to meet the rest of her crew!
