The Droplets

The snow is finally starting to melt and I've been seeing tons of little puddles with steady drops keeping them full all over the place (outside, that is)!  So I just couldn't resist getting in a few shots of this glass top with water!  I'm in need of a good night's sleep, but this little mini-project was well worth the time!  Plus, I got to play with the beauty dishes I made!  They turned out great, were quite affordable, and diffuse light beautifully!

The Photo Contest | Wisconsin Portrait Photographer

I entered this image into a photo contest through Photographer's Forum and received notice today that it was selected as a finalist!  It's going to be published in a limited edition book entitled Best of College Photography 2011!  I'm so honored and excited!  I thought all my readers and clients out there might like to hear the news as well!  (And a special thanks to Baby E and her family for their contribution - those little baby blues would win anyone over!)

The Burnt Cookies

So, my sister and I did some baking recently and...well...let's just say there were a few extra crispy batches!

The Dog | Minneapolis Minnesota Pet Photographer

This "little" (I use that term lightly here) pup was so funny!  I had the chance to work with her and her human parents a while ago and I couldn't get over this shot.  She has these gorgeous eyes, this quizzical look, and these goofy ears that are just a size too small for her head!  She's huge but she's still a puppy by age so playtime (which is every second of every minute of the day) can be a crazy time.  I was great getting to work with her though and I can't wait to run my upcoming special that focuses on dogs (and pets of all kinds) and their families, and using photography to benefit pet saving organizations!  (More information on that to come a bit later - stay tuned!)

The Long Overdue Post | La Crosse Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

Hey All!  It's been such a long time since I've had a chance to sit down and write something on here!  Just a quick update for everyone, I graduated college, upgraded my camera, upgraded my computer, developed/joined a partnership, assisted with the development of a wedding photography service with my partner, began revamping EIP, and survived a super long and intense cold!  All in all I've been busy!

The woman in the photo above with me (on the left) is Jaimie, my partner in crime when it comes to wedding photography!  This was our booth at Wedding World last weekend where we met billions of brides, grooms, moms-of-bride, and more!  It was so fun and I can't wait to get a jump on this year's wedding season!

Sneak Peek - A & D Engagement | Minneapolis Minnesota Engagement Wedding Photographer

I had the chance to photograph A & D the past weekend near the the twin cities in Minnesota and we had so much fun!  We explored a little downtown area close to their home and ventured out in the snow in a park to get these fun shots!  They even brought along their dog, who is a snow maniac!  Though we may all have permanent damage from frost bite, we got some great photos!  They'll be getting married in October of next year and I'm sure the wedding will be just as much fun as the engagement session was!  Congratulations A & D!

Sneak Peek - Baby K | La Crosse Wisconsin Baby Photographer

This little guy was so great during his 6 month photo shoot!  He was so alert and happy.  He let me work super fast and gave me all kinds of expressions!  And his mom is quite entertaining to him, he loves her singing!  I can't wait to see this little guy again!

The High School

I had a great time talking with students at West Salem High School today!  The Entrepreneurship Class was awesome and so was the instructor!  I got to meet some awesome students and they asked some great questions!  They were so great (and several students expressed interest in portraits) that I decided to develop a special promotion dedicated to West Salem High School Students and their families!  Book a session sometime during this school year and save!  Just make sure to mention the high school!

The Birds and the Building

I was so happy to catch this shot one overcast day.  I love the look of this old building and the motion in the birds wings!  The funny thing is, they just kept circling from one rooftop to another, if I had had time to stick around, I probably would have captured a few more images of them above other buildings!  Another great thing is that this building is about 120 years old!

Also, on a side note, I'm going to be participating in a social media study through UW-L by staying off of Facebook, blog sites, etc. for ONE WHOLE WEEK!  So bear with me during this self-imposed break.  I'm hoping to use the extra brain power to dedicate a little more focus to getting a photography partnership set up!  So, until after the 17th...
