The Baby Blues | La Crosse Wisconsin Baby Portrait Photographer

Doesn't this little one have the prettiest blue eyes?!  That's one of the many reasons that I love photographing infants; they have these adorable eyes!  It never ceases to amaze me how their little eyes are so bright and lively.  There's no stress in them; their eyes aren't blood shot and surrounded by circles and bags.  It just makes me feel so refreshed when I look at those little eyes!  And that's something that I've really tried to develop in my role as a baby photographer.  The eyes are so important in all portraits, and especially in the infant shots!  I like to make sure that all my images reflect the true aspects of their eyes and I think it really makes the images pop!

Also, I'm working on developing something unique for my clients that will help make their images of their little ones even more stunning!  I'm going to create some special "sets" that I can bring to the location shoots to make the final images very classic, smooth, and gorgeous!  Stay tuned for more on that (I just have to find someone with some building skills to help me out)!

The Skull

This is one of my "darker" images that I explored after being given these items as part of a photo challenge.  It was quite challenging for me, because it was so far from what I had been shooting up until then.  But I really enjoyed pushing myself and was quite pleased with the results in the end!  I have a few more in this series, one of which exists in many prints.  Thanks, J, for this great challenge!

The Burs

We came across these one day on a hike up a bluff near my parent's house.  I don't think I've ever seen burs that were quite as large before, but I was glad to see that they didn't have the extremely sharp ends like others.  These have a funny little hook at the ends of the spikes, but that just helped them to stay in the dogs fur much better!

The Swamp

This is a rather old image (from this Fall), but I just loved how the leaves on the trees on the bluff behind this swamp reflected so beautifully on the water!  Coming from Hawaii, where there's not much of a change in seasons, it was quite exciting to be able to photograph the amazing colors that arise during the Fall!  If only it didn't get so cold so fast!

The BioChemistry Student | La Crosse Wisconsin Model Photographer

I had the best mini session with a BioChemistry (yes, I've already told her she's crazy!) student at UW-L last week.  She agreed to pose for a project I've been working on and we had so much fun laughing and talking throughout the entire shoot!  Thanks T!

The Realtor | Onalaska Wisconsin Business Portrait Photographer

A few months ago I had the pleasure of working with a realtor who was looking to create a unique and interesting card that would stand out among the others.  She presented this idea to me and I ran with it, and in the end we were able to put together an awesome logo!  I can't wait for the next client who needs a logo, it was just too much fun!  Thanks Sue!

Caspian the Goldfish

This little guy was really tough to catch a shot of!  He's quite a fast swimmer when trying to avoid my camera!  But I managed to get a few shots, so that'll have to do for now!

Sneak Peek - Baby E! | La Crosse Wisconsin Baby Portrait Photographer

Baby E was a blast to photograph!  We've been working with her and her parents since she was born.  She's been following our Baby Steps program and this shot comes from her 6 month shoot!  I can't wait to see what new expressions she'll have for us next time!

The Gymnast | La Crosse Wisconsin Portrait Photographer

I was lucky enough to be able to book a very talented gymnast  from the University of Wisconsin for a quick photoshoot one evening!  It was so fun working with her!  She's not only extremely flexible (which made for some awesome poses!) but she's also really laid back, which made photographing her so easy!  We ended up spending over 3 hours in the studio and got some great finished images!  Thanks J.S.!
